Hub for Integration, Reentry & Employment (HIRE)
Some words from Sami

I’m often asked, “Why?”

Why help people struggling with addiction, homelessness, or a criminal record? Why invest in programs for people others believe will never change?

My answer is simple—and deeply personal.
I do it for my dad.
I do it for my brother.
And I do it because I was once in that same position.

I made mistakes—big ones—that still follow me today. I remember interviewing for a job, being offered the position on the spot, and feeling hope rush back into my life… only to have it taken away when my background check came back. That moment stays with you. It teaches you how fragile hope can be—and how powerful it is when someone chooses to give you another chance.

I can’t help but ask myself: If programs like HIRE had existed when my dad was younger, would he still be alive today?

That’s why I do this work. For a brighter future. For redemption. For real change. For lowering recidivism—not through punishment, but through opportunity.

So why HIRE?
Because at HIRE, we truly care.
We welcome people from all walks of life, carrying every mistake, every shame, every barrier—and we don’t turn away. We take that weight on together. As a team, we come together to break down obstacles one by one, tailoring support to each individual client, so they don’t just survive—but build a career and a future.

When you donate to HIRE, you’re not wasting money.
You’re investing in people.
You’re restoring hope.
You’re changing lives.

Donate to HIRE this Giving Day—and be part of the second chances that save lives.

The Hub for Integration, Reentry & Employment (HIRE) Story

HIRE exists to support individuals returning from incarceration as they rebuild their lives—through employment, stability, and community.

Over the past year, we’ve grown rapidly to meet the need. Every day, we are working with individuals navigating some of the most complex barriers: housing instability, gaps in employment, behavioral health challenges, and the realities of reentry.

And we’ve built a model that works.

But growth comes with a cost.

As demand increases, so does the need for staffing, infrastructure, and the resources required to continue delivering meaningful, consistent support. Like many nonprofits, we are navigating a funding landscape that has not kept pace with the level of need.

Giving Day is not just about expanding this work—it’s about sustaining it.

Your support helps ensure that individuals do not lose access to the services, guidance, and opportunities they need to move forward.

💥 The first $17,500 will be matched by our partners, Swinerton Builders, CalOptima, Caring Path Foundation, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial and Bomel Construction
💥 Your gift today has double the impact

This is a moment to step in, stand behind this work, and help ensure it continues.

If not now, when. If not us, who.
