My name is Vanessa, and I am a Youth Mentor with HIRE. Through my role, I support system-impacted and justice-involved youth as they work toward education, employment, and long-term stability. I help participants navigate barriers like limited work experience, lack of resources, and the challenges that come with reentry, while also encouraging confidence, accountability, and growth. HIRE’s work is personal to me because I have lived experience with the systems our participants are navigating.
This Giving Day, I’m raising funds to support programs that create real opportunities for youth and adults who deserve a second chance. Your donation helps provide guidance, resources, and hope to individuals who are actively working to change their lives.
Please consider joining me in supporting HIRE fulfill their mission!
HIRE exists to support individuals returning from incarceration as they rebuild their lives—through employment, stability, and community.
Over the past year, we’ve grown rapidly to meet the need. Every day, we are working with individuals navigating some of the most complex barriers: housing instability, gaps in employment, behavioral health challenges, and the realities of reentry.
And we’ve built a model that works.
But growth comes with a cost.
As demand increases, so does the need for staffing, infrastructure, and the resources required to continue delivering meaningful, consistent support. Like many nonprofits, we are navigating a funding landscape that has not kept pace with the level of need.
Giving Day is not just about expanding this work—it’s about sustaining it.
Your support helps ensure that individuals do not lose access to the services, guidance, and opportunities they need to move forward.
